Ways to Stay

Step into life at Leela, your way

Whether you want to experience community life, contribute your skills, or spend time on the land, there are different ways to stay at Leela. Each pathway offers a chance to participate in daily life and connect with others in a shared rhythm.

Living in the Buddhafield (LIB) Programme

The LIB programme offers the chance to spend time as part of daily community life at Leela. It is not a retreat or a volunteer role, but a way of sharing the rhythm of the centre between festivals. Days include shared meals, morning gatherings, meditation or body-based practice, and a light contribution to the running of the house that fits around your schedule.

There is also space for your own work, rest or creative projects, making it well suited to those working remotely or in transition. It’s a simple, grounded way to experience life here from the inside.

Volunteer at Leela

Join the community through our volunteer programme and take part in the daily running of the centre. All first-time volunteers begin with an Induction Week, offering support and orientation before stepping into shared responsibility.

Volunteering includes practical contribution alongside shared meals, practice and community life. Returning volunteers can continue their involvement or choose to support one of our festivals as part of the crew.

Festival Volunteering

Join the crew during our spring and summer events and support the practical running of our retreats and festivals. This is a short-term, event-based role connected to specific festival dates.

Festival volunteers contribute up to five hours each day, supporting areas such as set-up, catering, stewarding and housecare. In return, you experience the gathering from the inside, sharing in the atmosphere, community and celebration.

This pathway suits those who enjoy teamwork, hands-on work and the energy of a busy festival environment.

Whichever pathway you choose, staying at Leela means sharing in daily life, shared responsibility and care for the land.
