Food at Leela
Nourishing, seasonal food prepared fresh each day.
Meals at Leela are vegetarian, hearty, and prepared fresh each day by our kitchen team. Wherever possible, we use seasonal produce, including ingredients grown in our gardens and polytunnels, alongside organic supplies from local producers such as Goldhill Organics, Langridges, and Riverford.
Our menus are inspired by a range of cuisines, with a focus on nourishing dishes, fresh vegetables, herbs, and seasonal salads.
We cater for vegan and gluten-free diets, as well as common allergies and intolerances.
A tea station is available throughout the day, offering organic herbal teas, green and black teas, coffee (including decaf), hot chocolate, and both dairy and plant-based milks.
From polytunnel to plate
Much of the produce used in the kitchen is grown on the land at Leela. Our gardens and polytunnels provide seasonal vegetables, fresh salads, and culinary herbs that make their way straight into the kitchen.
Depending on the time of year, guests may enjoy ingredients harvested just hours before they reach the table.
Growing food on the land is an ongoing part of life at the centre and supports the kitchen in preparing fresh, seasonal meals.

At The Leela Centre, we provide nourishing vegetarian meals at our events and retreats. We do our best to accommodate common dietary needs where we can.
Our kitchen does use all 14 of the legally recognised allergens, including gluten, nuts, dairy, sesame, and soy. While we take care in how food is prepared, we work within a shared kitchen environment and cannot guarantee the absence of trace allergens.
If you have a medically diagnosed allergy, coeliac disease, or a severe food intolerance, please let us know in advance and connect with a member of our team when you arrive. We’re here to support you in making choices that feel safe for your body.
We’re always happy to share ingredient information, so you can decide what feels right for you.
In some cases, you may feel more comfortable bringing additional food to support your needs. We can usually offer fridge space if needed.
By attending, you acknowledge that food is prepared in a shared kitchen where allergens are present.
If you have any questions about meals or dietary needs before arriving, feel free to get in touch with the team here.
