Invocation Gathering

Movement – Sound – Voice

18th - 21st March 2027
with Jewell Hope Brightwell, Gavin Frank & friends

A Journey into Embodiment, Expression & Connection

A gathering celebrating the many gifts of exploring movement, sound and song.

Our unique voice and dance is a gift to be explored and shared, when we come together to dance and sing, community arises.

Pick and choose from the beautiful offerings from a wide range of facilitators to explore your dance and voice. Lose yourself in music, movement, sound and sensation.

Find yourself in the groundedness of your feet.

In this age of technology, digital stimulation, fast pace information and disconnection with nature, our nature - let’s come together and be present to the gift of these moments of creation, sharing all it is to be human through these rich modes of exploration.

This is an alcohol and drug free festival. We can get high on being alive right now, honouring all our emotions, similarities and differences through movement, sound and song.

Join us over the Spring Equinox to sing and dance your dreams into being.

Highlights

Invocation Gathering is a nourishing 4-day journey into embodiment, expression and connection through movement, dance, sound, voice and ceremony.

Dance & embodied movement

Explore a rich range of movement practices including 5Rhythms, Dance Connection, Continuum, Somatic Movement and Qi Gong. These sessions invite you to listen to the body, soften the mind and reconnect with your natural sense of freedom, creativity and aliveness.

Voice, song & sound

Open your voice and explore sound through voicework, vocal improvisation, kirtan, sound baths and the Sacred Octave – Indian Scale. No singing experience is needed, this is about discovering the unique sound and expression that already lives within you.

Ceremony & sacred connection

The festival includes opening and closing ceremonies: moments of shared presence. Together we create a space to honour the body, the heart, the elements and the deeper wisdom that comes alive when we gather.

Community & celebration

Invocation is an intimate, alcohol and drug free festival where people come together to sing, dance, listen, express and celebrate being alive. Through music, movement and shared experience, community arises naturally.

Rest, nature & integration

Between workshops, there is time to rest, walk in nature, enjoy the sauna, share meals and integrate your experiences in the peaceful surroundings of Leela.

A gathering for everyone

No dance or singing ability is needed. Invocation is for anyone who wants to explore movement, voice, sound and embodied connection in a smaller, welcoming festival setting.

Come sing, dance and dream your way into being.

Meet your Hosts

Jewell Hope Brightwell

Co-Leader | Dance Connection

Jewell loves music, movement, sound, and voice which is why she came up with the idea of the Invocation festival in August 2024, she wasn’t aware of any festival dedicated to this combination. Creative Director of Dance Connection, Jewell’s mission is to get as many people moving together as possible - she sees that movement when carefully coupled with music gives a broad human experience : “we can let our body dance us, explore unfamiliar movement, be the music, express our emotions, accept and inspire each other with no judgment, and connect without words, beyond personality - it feels almost miraculous at times.”

Gavin and Jewell are thrilled that Invocation is moving to the Spring Equinox, a time of balance of night and day, of the seen and unseen. Invocation is about singing and dancing your dreams into being. In Winter we rest and restore, energy builds and pushes up and out in Spring. In this gathering we can begin to see 'what is arising for yourself in this time of mini rebirth’ & 'what do I / we want to start?’. We can bring our voice and dance into support and expression of this time of newness and celebration.
