Invocation Festival

Movement – Sound – Voice

July 9 - 12
with Jewell Hope Brightwell, Gavin Frank & friends

A Journey into Embodiment, Expression & Connection

Invocation is a festival to nourish you through exploration of movement, dance, sound, voice, and embodiment.

Our unique voice and dance is a gift to be explored and shared, when we come together to dance and sing, community arises.

Pick and choose from the beautiful offerings from a wide range of facilitators to explore your dance and voice. Lose yourself in music, movement, sound and sensation.

Find yourself in the groundedness of your feet.

In this age of technology, digital stimulation, fast pace information and disconnection with nature, our nature - let’s come together and be present to the gift of these moments of creation, sharing all it is to be human through these rich modes of exploration.

This is an alcohol and drug free festival. We can get high on being alive right now, honouring all our emotions, similarities and differences through movement, sound and song.

The programme begins at 4pm, but if you cannot make it for then, do try to be here for our Opening Ceremony led by Christina Kane at 8pm Thursday.

Our Unique Voice And Dance Is A Gift To Be Explored

The Benefits of Spending 4 days Together in this Intimate Festival

Singing and dancing for body, mind and soul.

The many benefits of Singing include:
Relieving stress and tension; boosting confidence; improving breathing; participating in a mindful activity; and so much more.

Dancing has some crossover benefits, it also:
Improves balance and coordination; enhances social connections; increase levels of the feel-good hormone serotonin; builds stronger bones and muscles, and so much more….look it up and you’ll see lots of supportive research.

What often isn’t mentioned though, is how deeply both dancing and singing connect you to your essence self, and open gateways to soul expression and connection.

Since time immemorial people have dance and sung, as Beethoven knew “Music has the power to revolutionise our world”.

As we journey together through movement and voice - the naturalness of expression, uniqueness of each other, and sense of community, are gifts bestowed on us all - deepening day by day - as Aristotle said “the whole is greater than the sum of the parts”.

Who is this for …

  • No dance or singing ability necessary. This is suitable also for experienced dancers and singers

  • For anyone wanting to explore different modalities of movement

  • For anyone wishing to explore their voice through a rich array of workshops

  • For anyone preferring a smaller festival

“The perfect antidote to my overly stimulated, information-processing mind.”

- Bryan, Doctor, Ireland

Meet your Facilitators

Jewell Hope Brightwell

Co-Leader | Dance Connection

Jewell loves music, movement, sound, and voice which is why she came up with the idea of the Invocation festival in August 2024, she wasn’t aware of any festival dedicated to this combination. Creative Director of Dance Connection, Jewell’s mission is to get as many people moving together as possible - she sees that movement when carefully coupled with music gives a broad human experience : “we can let our body dance us, explore unfamiliar movement, be the music, express our emotions, accept and inspire each other with no judgment, and connect without words, beyond personality - it feels almost miraculous at times.”

Gavin Frank

Co-Leader | Indian Ragas, & Voicework

Gavin Frank is a singer, voice facilitator, Kirtan leader and musician. He has more than 26 years’ experience of empowering people to find their voice. Michelle Crozier

She fell in love with the practices many years ago and hasn't looked back since. Michelle is a multi-instrumentalist and a versatile singer who originally began as a kirtan drummer and backing vocalist. She then achieved her dream of composing and recording an album of mantras, titled Journey of the Heart.

Michelle loves to lead kirtans, hold sound healing and ecstatic drum dance events, and has never been more fulfilled. She created Self Care Sunday wellbeing events to combine all of these musical passions.

She loves to take people on a magical, healing journey through using her voice and intuitive music, and is grateful she has found her soul purpose.

Christina Marie Kane

Ceremony | Sacred Fire | Qigong

  • Christina (Misty Moon Bear) is a sacred space-holder and guide devoted to awakening the heart and embodying the deep wisdom of the soul. As the founder of “Together We Rise”, she weaves Sacred Fire, Voice, Movement, Ceremonial Cacao, and Soul Retrieval into Circles that open portals of remembrance and connection. Her gatherings are beautiful, transformative experiences that invite people home to themselves.

Rooted in intuition, ritual, and earth connection, Christina’s work is a blend of ancient remembering and modern embodiment. Her circles are known for their warmth, depth, humour and creativity — sacred spaces where stories unfold, emotions soften, and people feel truly seen.

With over a thousand gatherings and hundreds of one-to-one healings, she has nurtured a community built on compassion, courage, and conscious living. Christina’s mission is simple yet profound: to help others descend, reclaim, embody & rise to walk their path with clarity, heart, and sacred intention

  • Together, we will call in the Archetypal energies of the Serpent, Jaguar, Hummingbird and Condor, the Ancestors and the Elements in a powerful remembrance of these forces within us.

We will drink the nectar of Hummingbird Medicine, honouring Joy, Lightness, and the ability to find sweetness even in challenging times.

We will give gratitude to the Earth, one another & the Q’ero peoples of Peru by creating a Despacho, as at this time in history the Andean Shamans have asked that their Medicine be shared in the West to fulfil the prophecy of the Eagle and the Condor—a time when the Eagle of the North and the Condor of the South fly together, symbolising the harmonious integration of cultures and the emergence of a new level of human consciousness. Let Hummingbird guide us away from our old stories to the Magic & Miracles already here Now.

  • Christina will close the Directions with Gratitude to the energies that have held us throughout the Festival in a collaboration with the other Leaders who will share Song (Gavin) etc

    Sacred Fire Ceremony:

Experience An ancient ritual of Fire & Song inspired by the Q’ero Peoples, whose Medicine is pure, to release all that holds us back from our highest destiny and potential for Joy, Peace & Connection. Allow the Fire to transform all that no longer serves you, as you Sing your Heart Song—leaving you clearer, lighter and more alive and pathing the way for a better future for future generations.

Francis Michael Eliot

5Rhythms

  • I'm an open-hearted wounded healer who's been around the block enough times to know that true spirituality can be gritty and raw. I therefore teach with a deep respect for discernment and boundaries, honouring the fact that people need to feel safe to feel free. I was trained by my beloved teacher, friend and ‘Spirit Mama’ Gabrielle Roth back in 2004 and she still has my back every time I teach. With the help of fluid guidance and cutting-edge music choices arising out of the moment, my sessions are a group journey into the heart of embodied ecstasy.

  • 5Rhythms Workshop — Move Into Connection

5Rhythms is a dynamic movement practice that invites you to move with your breath, listen to your body, and let yourself be danced. Through guided movement, you explore what happens when you soften self-imposed limitations and step out of isolation into embodied presence.

This is not about how you look, but about discovering who is really dancing.

    What you’ll gain

    • Deepened connection: to your body, to others, and to the larger field of movement

    • A felt sense of freedom and aliveness through embodied expression

    • Access to creativity that arises when thinking gives way to sensing

    What you will experience:

    1. Connection to self — increased body awareness, presence, and trust in your own movement

    2. Connection to others — authentic relating through shared, non-verbal experience

    3. Connection to life energy — renewed creativity, vitality, and a sense of belonging

5Rhythms opens a doorway from separation into connection, connection, connection — where movement becomes a language and community emerges naturally.

Allan Kerr

Drumming Workshop

  • When Allan was 21 he went on a life changing journey to Guinea, sparking a lifelong passion for rhythms and percussion. He has been playing drums and percussion for 30 years now and has developed a deep relationship with rhythm through playing in bands, leading groups and collaborating on diverse projects.

His studies have taken him to West Africa and the traditional heartlands of polyrhythmic drum culture, where he has forged connections with the ancient practice of gathering in community through rhythm.

With an array of drums and percussion, Allan’s participative sessions invite a sense of connection, listening, playfulness and celebration.

Blanche Mulholland

Continuum & Somatic Movement

  • As a registered Somatic Movement Therapist & Educator, Continuum Teacher and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, Blanche has developed a unique approach to healing through movement and embodied enquiry within her private practice Somatic Alchemy. Her approach is centred around awakening the natural intelligence, creativity and innate healing of the body and allowing this to guide us, to reveal to us our deepest essence and resources. Blanche facilitates therapeutic movement sessions, workshops and retreats with individuals and groups from her home studio and retreat centre in Glastonbury.
